Budo
Sheila Haddad has been training and teaching martial arts internationally since 1989 and is a global keynote instructor. She holds a 15th degree black belt in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu/Ninjutsu, and awarded the title of Dai-shihan by Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi. She has a 7th degree black belt in Seibukan Jujutsu with the title of Shihan, and a 2nd degree black belt in Hakko Ryu Jujutsu. She trained 20 years in traditional Japanese Sword arts with Machita Soke, and has a 5th degree black belt in Enshin Itto Ryu Batto Jutsu and a 6th degree in Mugai Ryu, under the umbrella name of Enbukan. For 30 years she has trained twice yearly with her teachers in Japan. Soke Hatsumi of Bujinkan retired in 2019, and Soke Machita Kenshinsai passed away in 2023. Sheila continues to teach Bujinkan.
Sheila has spent the last 30+ years teaching Self Defense workshops of all levels for girls, teenagers and adult women, worldwide. The focus in her courses consisted of the importance of the psychological aspects of trauma and abuse, broadening awareness, developing intuition and sensitivities for prevention purposes. Locations she has taught seminars and courses are: US, India, Ghana, Afghanistan, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Denmark, Austria and Spain, in addition to to the Blind and Visually impaired center in Hawaii. Sheila is a past Chair and Executive Board Member of American Women’s Self Defense Association, National Women’s Martial Art Federation, and the Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists. And a current member of the Association of Women’s Martial Art Instructors.
Sheila has semi-retired from the Seido Institute, her business organization devoted to the integration of the warrior and healing arts. The Institute offers international workshops, seminars and certifications in martial arts and Seido Bio-Energy Therapy. She has earned a Masters degree in Psychology, and works now as a consultant.
Her passion for photography has led from a hobby to semi-professional. Sheila has some photos published, placed in contests and has printed a photo biography book of Hatsumi Soke, which can be found in the Webshop. Her passion is learning.
